Register of War Memorials in NSW

Posted on May 27, 2013. Filed under: Reference | Tags: |

The Register of NSW War Memorials records the war memorials located in New South Wales and the veterans commemorated on each memorial. Memorials are mapped, have photographs, and contains lists of names.

For reference work:

The site is useful for family historians and other researchers. It also provides links to other useful research sites.

Community contribution:

There are more than 3,000 war memorials in our State, and the NSW Government and the RSL (NSW Branch) are committed to documenting each of these memorials.  There are asking for community participation in the project: members of the community, local councils, RSL sub-branches and schools. There are templates to help, and you can improve the information on existing records as well. You may contribute the information to the register, or you may want to encourage people in your community to add information.

This is a continuation of the project which was in operation several years ago.
